Ghidini 1961

“When a city is shrouded in grey clouds, the stylish design of the new Ghidini 1961 collection brings the light back to it.”

Ghidini Giuseppe Bosco, a family company with a more than fifty-year tradition, is at the summit of Italian design thanks to its unique technological capabilities. For three generations, Ghidini has focused primarily on making artefacts of brass, which it presents in all possible shapes and finishes (gold, copper, bronz), by which it is elevating this heretofore unjustly overlooked metal to the level of a valuable material and thus making its debut in the world of contemporary design.

Designed by a stellar cast of world-renowned architects and designers such as Andrea Branzi, Fernando and Humberto Campana, Richard Hutten, Elisa Giovannoni, Studio Job and Nika Zupanc, the new Ghidini 1961 collection of furniture, lamps and household accessories was created under the artistic direction of Stefan Giovannoni.

This extraordinarily diverse collection of lustrous, highly sophisticated, elegant and modern articles of brass was exhibited at Milan Design Week and now praguekabinet has the great honour of presenting it to you.

Whether it is a doorstop in the form of a rabbit by Stefan Giovannoni, a surrealistic champagne cooler in the shape of a giant thimble or a round mirror of bordered with palm leaves by Nika Zupanc, all of the products in the Ghidini 1961 collection are rendered in an unusual and even metaphorically playful way somewhere on the boundary between the sacred and the profane, as they inspire in us the idea that life should not only be lived, but it should also be celebrated. So, don’t hesitate and come to celebrate together with us.
